How to choose

Three questions
1

How many people, and for how long?

One person for short calls is a Solo. One person for full days is a Solo Plus. Two is a Duo or Team, four is a Meet, six is a Max. Session length matters as much as headcount — a booth used for two-hour stretches needs more room than one used for fifteen-minute calls.

2

What shape is the space?

This is where the Team earns its place. At 2300 × 966 mm it is under a metre deep and sits flat against a wall run or window line. A square pod of similar capacity needs a corner or an island position and eats circulation space.

3

How does it get in?

Check the internal lift, corridor width and any tight corners. Packed pallets are 1270 mm tall and between 2310 and 2650 mm long. That length is the number that catches people out, not the assembled height.

Cost per seat

Where the value sits

Cost per person falls sharply as pods get larger. A Solo is about $7,600 per seat. A Max seats six for roughly $2,500 each. If the problem is meetings rather than calls, the larger models are far better value per head — provided you have the floor area to give them.

Common questions

Asked by real buyers

Which FocusPod model should I choose?

Match the model to the number of people and the shape of the space. One person taking calls needs a Solo. One person working full days needs a Solo Plus. Two people need a Duo, or a Team if the space is narrow. Four around a table need a Meet, and six need a Max.

What is the difference between the Duo and the Team?

Shape. Both seat two with identical acoustics and ventilation. The Duo is 1600 × 1375 mm and roughly square. The Team is 2300 × 966 mm, under a metre deep, so it fits against a wall or window line where a square pod cannot.

Do all models have the same acoustic rating?

Yes. Every model is rated Class A under ISO 23351-1 at up to 30 dB speech level reduction. Size and capacity change; acoustic construction does not.

Which model is best value per person?

The larger ones. A one-person booth works out around $7,600 per seat, while a six-person pod seats six for roughly $2,500 each. If your problem is meetings rather than calls, the larger models are far better value per head, provided you have the floor area.

How much floor space does each model need?

About 1.0 m² for a Solo, 2.2 m² for a Solo Plus, Duo or Team, 4.1 m² for a Meet, and 6.77 m² for a Max, plus clearance for the door and for people to walk past.

Do heavier models need floor loading checks?

Assembled weights run from 290 kg to 970 kg. Because the larger pods spread that over a bigger footprint, loading falls as the pod grows: roughly 143 kg/m² for a six-person pod, 171 for a four-person, 228 to 254 for the two-person models, and about 310 kg/m² for the smallest booth, which concentrates its weight over roughly one square metre. Most Australian commercial floors are designed to a 3.0 kPa uniformly distributed load under AS/NZS 1170.1, which is about 306 kg/m² — so the larger models sit comfortably inside it and the smallest is worth confirming with your building manager on older floors.
