FocusPod vs Framery

Framery compared

Same Class A rating. Published price. In stock.

We make FocusPod, so this is our case rather than a neutral review. Every figure below is checkable against both companies' own specifications.

Soundproof office booth standing beside a row of desks

Framery and FocusPod are both rated Class A at 30 dB speech level reduction under ISO 23351-1 — the same top acoustic band. The difference is what you pay and how long you wait. FocusPod publishes every price, starting at $7,595 ex GST with free delivery and Australian stock that ships in days. Framery does not publish Australian pricing at all; you go through a dealer and wait for a quote.

On acoustics, there is nothing between them

Both Class A

This is the comparison people expect to be decisive, and it is not. Framery One is rated Class A at 30 dB speech level reduction under ISO 23351-1. So is every FocusPod model. Class A is the highest band the standard has.

In practice that means a normal speaking voice inside either pod is unintelligible outside it. Someone standing a metre away hears that a conversation is happening and cannot make out a word of it. That is the entire job, and both products do it.

So the acoustic argument is settled, and everything else is what you are actually choosing between. If a salesperson tells you one is meaningfully quieter than the other at the same certified rating, ask for the report number and the measurement conditions.

We publish prices because the alternative is a form and a wait. You can see what any FocusPod costs in four seconds, on the page, with delivery included. Getting an Australian number out of Framery means an enquiry, a dealer and a callback.

That is not a small thing when you are building a business case. Half the pod purchases we see stall because the person championing it cannot put a number in front of a finance manager without committing to a sales conversation first.

Twelve weeks is a cost, not a detail

Standard white and grey FocusPods sit in our Gold Coast warehouse and dispatch the next business day. Built-to-order imports commonly run twelve to sixteen weeks.

If your team needs quiet space before a move, an audit, a hiring intake or a lease event, a pod arriving in December is not a cheaper pod. It is a problem you still have, plus an invoice. Ask any supplier what is physically in Australia today, in what colours, and get the answer in writing.

The technology question

What are you actually paying for?

Framery builds smart pods. Touchscreens, built-in 4G for over-the-air updates, calendar and walk-in booking, occupancy analytics, temperature and humidity sensors, sound masking. It is genuinely well engineered and we do not offer any of it.

The question worth asking is whether your people will use it. Across the installs we have done, the pattern is consistent: someone walks up to a free pod, opens the door, sits down and takes their call. Booking systems get used on floors where pods are scarce — which is a problem better solved by having another pod than by scheduling the one you have.

If you are fitting out a corporate floor where meeting rooms already run on a booking platform and facilities want utilisation data, Framery's technology earns its place and you should buy it. If the job is to stop people taking client calls at their desk, you are paying for a screen nobody touches.

Two pods beat one better pod

The argument we make most often

This is the most useful thing we can tell you, and it costs us nothing to say because it is simply true.

The reason people stop using a booth is finding it occupied twice in a row. After that they stop trying and go back to taking calls at their desk, and your investment sits there being excellent and unused. We have watched it happen on floors with genuinely good pods.

One booth per fifteen people works for a team taking normal call volumes. One per eight to ten for sales, recruitment or anything client-facing. If the budget covers two of ours or one premium pod, two is almost always the better outcome for the floor — and it is why published pricing matters, because you can do that arithmetic yourself before you speak to anyone.

Where Framery is genuinely ahead

Two things, said plainly so you can weigh them.

Manufacturing. Framery builds in Finland using renewable energy and recycled materials, and states their pods are fully recyclable at end of life. If you have ESG reporting obligations or a Green Star target, that provenance is worth something concrete. FocusPod pods are built to our specification in Asia. We hold GREENGUARD Gold for indoor emissions and a verified ISO 14067 carbon footprint, and our pods are relocatable and repairable rather than disposable — but a Finnish factory is a Finnish factory.

Customisation. Over three thousand finish combinations against our seven exterior and thirteen interior options. If the pod has to match a specific interior scheme exactly, they have more range.

Who should buy which

Straight answer
The trade-off

Technology you may never use

Touchscreens, booking integration and occupancy analytics are real features. The question is whether your people will touch them. Across the floors we install into, someone walks up to a free booth, opens the door and takes their call — and the premium buys a screen nobody uses.

What we'd do

Two booths beat one better booth

Identical Class A rating, price on the page, free delivery, Australian stock that ships in days, our own installers — and enough left over to put a second pod on the floor. That will do more for your team than any feature list, because the reason people stop using a booth is finding it occupied.

What to ask, whoever you buy from

Five questions get you a straight answer from any supplier, including us. What standard is the acoustic rating measured to and what is the report number. What is the airflow in cubic metres per hour, and does ventilation run when the booth is empty. Are the outlets Australian and the wiring to AS/NZS 3000. What is physically in stock in Australia today. And can you see the quote broken into pod, freight, installation and furniture as separate lines. If a supplier will not answer those, that tells you something.

Common questions

Asked by real buyers

How do Framery office pods compare in Australia?

FocusPod is the direct alternative: the same Class A acoustic rating under ISO 23351-1, published pricing from $7,595 ex GST, free delivery Australia-wide, and stock held on the Gold Coast that ships in days rather than months.

Is FocusPod as good as Framery acoustically?

Yes, on the published figures. Both are rated Class A under ISO 23351-1 at up to 30 dB speech level reduction, which is the highest band in the standard and the number that determines whether a pod actually contains a conversation. Any claim of an acoustic advantage at the same rating should come with a report number.

How much does a Framery pod cost in Australia?

Framery does not publish Australian pricing. Pods are sold here through authorised dealers and priced on quote, so the figure varies by dealer, configuration and volume. You will need to submit an enquiry and wait. FocusPod publishes every price on every product page.

Why is FocusPod cheaper than Framery?

Two reasons. We supply direct rather than through a dealer network, so there is no distributor margin in the price. And we do not build smart technology into the pod — no touchscreen, no 4G module, no booking system — which is a significant part of what a smart pod costs to make.

What does Framery have that FocusPod doesn't?

Built-in technology: touchscreens, calendar booking, occupancy analytics and sound masking. It is well engineered. Whether it earns the premium depends on whether your people will use it — across the floors we install into, they walk up to a free booth and open the door.

How long does delivery take compared to Framery?

FocusPod holds Australian stock in standard white and grey, dispatching the next business day with free delivery nationwide. Imported pods built to order typically run twelve to sixteen weeks. If you need quiet space before a lease event, an audit or a hiring intake, that difference is the whole decision.

Can I get two FocusPods for the price of one Framery?

Often, yes, though we cannot state it precisely because Framery does not publish Australian prices. What we can say is that two pods almost always outperform one better pod, because the reason people stop using a booth is finding it occupied twice in a row.
